Clark Media Productions is my audio/visual production company, based in Alexandria, Virginia.  I offer personalized production services for musicians looking to record an album and increase their online presence.  Recently, I have worked with  composers and publishers looking to record compositional demos, and artists creating video series for Youtube and social media use.

My biggest joy is producing recording sessions for artists dreaming of creating personal and inspriring recordings of their art.  My strengths are communication, organization, honesty, and a professional but low-key approach to collaborating on creative projects.  My ears and extensive professional experience, both as a performer and producer, is yours to help you reach your audience, and communicate your creative passion.  As your producer, I will oversee every aspect of your recording, starting with your tracking sessions where I will help you develop a manageable session timeline and manage that time during the recording process.  I will be your "ears in the booth", marking scores and mapping out your best takes, before overseeing the editing phase of your recording, creating a seamless and true representation of you as an artist.  Finally, we will master and deliver a recording that you will be proud of for many years to come!  I love discussing new projects, crazy ideas, dreams, and creative bucket list items!  Let's see if I'm a good fit to realize your creative vision.  Drop me a line, and let's discuss your idea!

recent Productions:

Here's another rag arranged by my friend and Marine Band colleague, Jon Bisesi.  This is Chromatic Fox Trot, for solo xylophone and brass quintet.

I recently recorded and produced a video series for my friend and Marine Band colleague, Jon Bisesi, featuring Jon's arrangements of rags by George Hamilton Green, for solo xylophone and brass quintet.  Great fun on these sessions - be on the lookout for more videos in the coming months!

Anne McGinty composed a very challenging and beautiful piece called Tuba and 12, and I had the chance to record it for Anne this winter.  John Cradler played the solo tuba part, and my fellow engineer Michael Ducassoux did the mastering work.  Find out more about Michael's work at Red Room Productions.

This recording is a demo I did for arranger and hornist Mark Questad.  Mark's beautiful arrangements are available through McGinty Music. This demo involved securing a recording location, and arranging for session musicians, followed by recording on location.

I recently had the good fortune to record my good friend and 2nd trumpet of the Cleveland Orchestra, Jack Sutte, in his performance of two complete etude books newly composed by Nathan Ost.  Nathan has added two excellent collections of etudes to the trumpet repertoire, and it was a great pleasure to record Jack's fantastic playing.  Here are a few examples from the sessions... Enjoy!  Find Nathan's etude books and website HERE.  Also, check out Jack's fantastic brass trio with his Cleveland colleagues, Factory Seconds!

Demo recording for composer, Anne McGinty...Anne runs McGinty Music, and keeps a stable of fantastic arrangers and composers represented in her catalog, as well as publishes her own arrangements and original compositions.  I recorded a number of brass quintet arrangements as demos for her publishing website, and this piece was an original that we really enjoyed playing and recording.  No Strings Attached is challenging, exciting, and would serve as a great opening piece for a recital program.

What I provide:

I am both a recording engineer, and a producer.  As a producer, nothing satisfies me more than being a facilitator for amazing creative visions, and seeing artists bring those visions into public view.  The key is, I will help you get from napkin-sketch idea to finished product, ready for public exposure.

Clark Media is built on world class audio, and value to individual artists and small ensembles with real-world budgets.  For each project, I generate a personalized estimate of the expected costs of your project, and often present multiple options to fit different budgets.  I can also give you an accurate idea of how long a particular project will take, from start to final delivery.  By keeping your goals at the forefront of my estimate and providing excellent quality, I provide outstanding value for you to get the most out of your budget.  Contact me to discuss your project, and let's see if we can figure out a format that satisfies your goals!

I record audio in 24-bit/96K high resolution format, and deliver final files in both .wav and high quality .mp3 for your use.  DDP images for both CD production and digital distribution may be produced, as well as audio/video promotional pieces for social media.  Proper, and professional mastering is included in the estimate for every project.  I provide guidance for social media use, to include advertising and appropriate tagging, and audio presentations for Youtube and Facebook.  Let's take care of the details so your project looks as professional as it sounds.

Video recording is available on request to fit the vision of your project.  Often, I bundle promotional video footage with audio recording sessions to give my clients the greatest amount of value from their session time.

Contact me and let's discuss your dream project, no matter the size.  I'm excited to help you realize your creative vision!

Read below for testimonials from artists that I've had the pleasure to work with...

"The brass quintet demo recordings Clark Media Productions produced for my website are terrific! I will definitely be asking Chris to record future projects — Los Angeles studio quality at a very reasonable price."  Anne McGinty, McGinty Music
"Words cannot describe how pleased I am with Chris Clark's work.  He took on the monstrous task of recording and producing all 42 etudes from my two trumpet books, and delivered results that are nothing short of world class." Nathan Ost, composer
"Chris Clark will bring your recording projects to life and fruition, with integrity and acoustic care from start to finish.  Your music is in superb artistic hands." Jack Sutte, 2nd trumpet, The Cleveland Orchestra - Professor of Trumpet, Baldwin-Wallace Conservatory of Music
“I have nothing but praise for Clark Media. The recordings they produced for me of my brass quintets Be Cool! and Fanfare and March were of the highest quality both in terms of sound quality and musical artistry. The fees were quite reasonable and the work was done efficiently and in a timely manner. I would highly recommend Clark Media to anyone seeking first-class recordings of original works, concerts, recitals, etc - Jeffrey H. Bauer, composer”

One thing we've found very important to make in conjunction with recordings is... SOCIAL MEDIA TRAILERS!  We include these with each project!
